Since I first created The Sexton's Tales site back in 1994, a number of awards have wingéd my way.
Recently, in a radio interview, I was asked whether I thought these accolades important. The way I reckon it - if anyone takes the time to browse my pages, and likes them sufficently enough to write and tell me - I'm more than chuffed.

The following awards are not in any particular order. Some offer links to the donor which if followed, may lead your site to untold publicity...

4 Shades

NETSCREAM OF THE CROP 4 Shade Site Award

"We at NetScream! want to congratulate you on the outstanding design and usefulness of your website. You have been rated on the thoroughness and relevance of your site, as well as design innovativeness and accessability. In other words, your site makes the web a better place to be. The four pairs of sunglasses on the image enclosed means our way-hip, eight-eyed webcrawler needed four pairs of shades to protect his eyes from the UV rays emanating from your site."

THE BEST THEME AWARD 1997

On presenting this award:

"The subject matter you have chosen is very difficult to present in a manner that is interesting to most people, death and cemetery are not normally looked upon so tastefully."

For those interested in Victoriana, this site provides a fascinating insight into the period and provides some great links.
